Project Result
GROUP 1
Group1 is formed by IITM, UT and UW. It aim at designing mass housing in cyclone affected regions. The average area of the house is 500 square feet. The cheaper and the faster construction is better. By considering the climate, a tropical climate is with excessive humidity, especially along coastline. Also, the temperature varies between 34 - 45oC while winter temperature varies between 39 - 18oC. The annual rainfall received by the area is around 95cm.
There are a special culture in India. The people of the Andhra use Vastu as manual of design, layout, measurements, space arrangement, and other aspects of architecture. So certain principles are to be considered for planning of the house like:

- The kitchen is preferably kept in south east
- The bedroom in south west
- Open space in the east or north
- Toilet in the south or north west

GROUP 2
Group2 is formed by NCKU, YU and WSU. Their work is to design for the improvement about the housing reconstruction of Taiwan’s common disaster—Typhoon. One of the most deadliest typhoon is Morakot(August 2009). Xiaolin Village is a village that destroyed by a catastrophic mudslide during typhoon Morakot. The design consideration will not only contain typhoon but also earthquake.It is hot in the site, over 30 degrees in summer. The humidity is high, too. And the rainfall is concentrated in summer. There is also long and intense sunlight. Typhoon and earthquake occur frequently.
In order to reduce interior heat, our first thought was to shade sunlight from directly entering the house. So we made the entire roof tilt against the maximum-sunlight direction and extend the eaves so that the sun couldn’t even heat up that side of the walls.
Our model seems to be a two-story building. However, there are no floors in between, so that heat could escape from the windows opened at the upper part of the house.

Lesson Learned
團隊溝通
在各組中都有遇到與組員聯繫不上的問題,而且,每個學校的deadline不同、課程要求也不同,很容易有組員消失或是別校期限將至但前一階段作業尚未完成的情況。
一開始我們只用email溝通,但是透過信件溝通的效率不佳,之後我發現IITM、NCKU、YU組員的常用facebook,所以跟他們用facebook訊息及社團做溝通很有效率;UT、WU、WSU則習慣用email,回信及讀信的頻率較高,回覆也快,雖然有找到效率較高的連絡方式,但因為是線上合作,所以如果組員直接忽略信件或訊息而不予以回覆的話,仍是難以處理問題。
也曾經有過為了催進度而常常寄信給負責的組員,當時該組員沒有回信,然後,在透過別的方式聯繫後才知道他們正在忙其他課業所以暫停進度;也有組員即將面臨期末考所以得晚幾天才能進行modeling,但他們一忙完就馬上進行作業,雖然來不及趕在期限前完整的呈現,但還是很感謝他們努力的做出成果。
這些經驗讓我覺得溝通真的很重要,因為很多組員也是很用心的投入這個project,暫時的沒有回應也許只是因為他們有其他事情要處理,透過不斷的彼此了解後,除了能體諒他們的困難外,還能看到他們對成果的用心!在跟他們討論他們所做的部分時,也對他們的能力感到佩服!大部分的成果都很專業且完整,從中學到不少!
主持討論
在主持會議時,我發現其實很多部份的內容是我不懂的,所以我都會請較專業的隊友多多指出應該改進的地方,並多注意每個組員的討論狀況與進度,記錄下該改進的地方、下禮拜討論前各組需達到的進度、哪組提出了什麼問題等,讓組員們能透過會議記錄就能確切掌握好該達到的進度以及其他組員情況。
調整進度
遇到組員們有困難時要看看會不會影響到其他組員的作業,或者讓較4D modeling階段的組員先參與模型設計的討論等,盡量讓大家都有事情做,並且很好的了解model與project內容和進度。最大程度的善用每個成員並依每個人的狀況做適當的進度調整,這讓我在規畫這方面學到很多。
