Course Description
The course is designed as an annual class project where students from four university, University of Washington (UW), Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras), National Taiwan University (NTU), and Yonsei University (YU), in a distributed virtual collaboration. Student teams should met once per week in the virtual world known as the CyberGRID where they interacted with shared models on an interrelated assignment. IIT-Madras (3D Modeling), UW (4D model), NTU (flood-safe analysis), and YU (Cost Estimate).
Course Objectives
The goal of this course is using Revit (a BIM solution) to organize the Building information and students work together via the network collaboration platform. The teams composed of students from different countries and colleges. They will design a building which can both defend the floods and provide secure residences, as the Project.
The construction industry is often interdisciplinary, facing cultural differences and verbal communication and other issues. This course trains students in advance to enable them to work in the future in the field, making them competitive in the workplace. Students from four different college are grouped according to the tasks. Team members gathering online at least once a week to CyberGRID on 3D modeling, 4D Model, flood-safe analysis and other related operations project costs and schedule estimates, and interact and discuss with each other.

<<Notes>>
The team will designs a floodable construction together as the project in the first 3 to 9 weeks. The project has a total of four schools involved members include National Taiwan University (NTU), University of Washington (UW), Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras), and Yonsei University (YU). A virtual team will be grouped and an online platform for discussion and communication for the project.
